Full Arch Implant Reconstruction (All-on-X).
When multiple teeth are failing or missing, full arch implant reconstruction (All-on-X) offers a stable, long-term alternative to dentures. Using advanced implant techniques, we can restore an entire arch of teeth with a fixed, natural-looking solution designed for function, comfort, and longevity.
Patients may be referred by their dentist or choose to attend directly, with confidence that they are receiving specialist care trusted across the profession.
All-on-X Full Arch Implant Reconstruction Explained
Full arch reconstruction (commonly known as All-on-X) is a treatment that replaces all teeth in the upper or lower jaw using a small number of strategically placed dental implants.
Typically, four to six implants are used to support a fixed bridge of teeth — restoring both function and appearance without the need to replace each tooth individually.
Unlike removable dentures, this solution is fixed in place, allowing patients to eat, speak, and smile with confidence.
Why Patients Choose This Treatment
Tooth loss or failing dentition can significantly affect daily life — from difficulty eating to loss of confidence and facial support.
Full arch implant reconstruction is designed to address these challenges with a solution that is:
Stable and secure – no movement or slipping like dentures
Natural in appearance – designed to replicate real teeth and smile aesthetics
Functionally strong – improved chewing ability and speech
Long-term focused – supports bone preservation and oral health
Efficient – fewer implants used to restore a full arch
For many patients, this treatment represents a significant improvement in both quality of life and overall oral health.
Specialist-Led Treatment Approach
Full arch implant reconstruction is one of the most complex procedures in dentistry — requiring careful planning, surgical precision, and restorative coordination.
At Australian Periodontal Group, treatment is led by registered specialists in periodontology and implant dentistry, working in collaboration with your general dentist or restorative specialist.
We focus on:
Comprehensive diagnosis and risk assessment
Precise implant placement and tissue management
Long-term stability of both implants and surrounding structures
Seamless integration with your ongoing dental care
This ensures outcomes that are not only aesthetic but also predictable and durable over time.
The Treatment Process
Every case is unique, but All-On-X treatment typically involves a staged approach that allows for both precision and long-term success.
-
Comprehensive examination, imaging, and treatment planning.
-
Placement of dental implants, often with removal of failing teeth where required.
-
A key advantage of modern implant treatment is the ability to provide immediate fixed solutions, meaning patients are not left without teeth during treatment.
Full Arch Reconstruction (All-on-X)
For full arch cases, implants can often be placed and restored with a fixed temporary bridge shortly after surgery. This allows patients to leave with a functional, natural-looking set of teeth while healing takes place.
Immediate Fixed Provisional (where clinically appropriate)No removable dentures during healing. Maintains aesthetics, function, and confidence
Single Anterior Implant (Front Tooth Replacement)
For patients replacing a single front tooth, careful planning allows for an immediate fixed provisional tooth to be placed at the time of implant surgery in many cases. Designed to match the surrounding teeth and smile and protects soft tissue contours during healing. -
Implants integrate with the bone over several months.
-
A long-term, custom-designed bridge is fitted for optimal function and aesthetics.
Is All-on-X / Fixed Reconstruction Right for You?
Full arch reconstruction may be suitable for patients who:
Have multiple failing or missing teeth
Are struggling with loose or uncomfortable dentures
Have advanced gum disease or bone loss
Are seeking a long-term alternative to removable options
Even patients who have previously been told they are not suitable for implants may still be candidates, as modern techniques can often reduce the need for bone grafting.
A specialist consultation is essential to determine the most appropriate approach.
